The Smurfs

The Smurfs is a 2011 3D family film based on The Smurfs comic book series created  by Peyo and the 1980s animated TV series it spawned. The film was directed by Raja Cosnell and produced by Jordan Kerner. The distribution was made by Columbia Pictures and the story was written by J.David Stem and David N.Weiss.

 The running time is 102 minutes whereas the budget needed for the movie was $110 million. The filming began on March 2010 in New York City. During May, the scenes were filmed in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood. The film was first decided to be released on theaters on December 17, 2010. However, the date was pushed to July 29, 2011. After, it was again pushed on 3 August, 2011 and on March 25 it was brought back to July 29, 2011. The release date on DVD and Blu-ray disc is on December 2, 2011. With the movie, it is also included a 22-minute animated short film named The Smurfs: Christmas Carol.

  Generally, the movie received negative reviews from film critics. There are some of the critics that were made:

''The Smurfs may be blue, but their movie is decidedly green, recycling discarded bits from other celluloid Happy Meals like Alvin and the Chipmunks ,Garfield , and Hop into something half animated, half live action, and all careful studio calculation".

"This numbingly generic Smurf-out-of-water-tale is strictly for those who stand closer to three apples tall."

  Anyway it was announced that there will be a sequel that will be probably released on August 2, 2013. Sony began working on the sequel in early 2011 with writers David Stem, David Weiss, Jay Scherick and David Ronn. By early August 2011, the first draft of the script was completed.

The Smurfs get ready for the Blue Moon Festival. In his home, Papa Smurf sees a vision of the Smurfs in cages, Clumsy Smurf holding a dragon wand, and Gargamel being powerful. He refuses to allow Clumsy to pick Smurf Roots, but Clumsy disobeys Papa Smurf and does it anyway. However, Gargamel and Azrael see him and follow him into the village. The Smurfs all flee, and Clumsy runs into a forbidden cave. Papa Smurf, Smurfette , Grouchy, Brainy and Gutsy notice this and hurry after him. They find him at the edge of a cliff, and while trying to help him up, they are sucked into a gigantic vortex, leading to New York City. Patrick and Grace, a married and expectant couple and their Basset hound Elway, befriend them and allow them to stay in their apartment.

 Papa Smurf learns that he will be able to get them all home in a couple nights. But first, he must figure out the spell to do so. Patrick tells them that there is an old book store in the city, and they head there to get a spell book. After lots of searching, they find one of their own comic books, containing the spell. Gargamel hears where they are, so he sneaks into the book store and finds a dragon wand, which he then steals. He uses the dragon wand to abduct Papa Smurf. The Smurfs promise Papa Smurf that they won't try to save him. However, Clumsy stayed behind with Grace and Elway, so he plans a rescue, along with Patrick. The other Smurfs agree to help. Meanwhile, Gargamel is going to remove the "Smurf essence" from Papa Smurf and charge it into the dragon wand, which would make him more powerful than anything else in the world.

 Patrick and the Smurfs battle Gargamel while Smurfette fights Azrael and saves Papa Smurf. They, too, join the fight. Also, Brainy reads the spell and opens up the portal, allowing him to go home and round up his friends. Gargamel captures Papa Smurf again and throws him into the air, but Patrick catches him. Right before Gargamel can destroy them both, Gutsy knocks the dragon wand out of his hand. Clumsy tries to catch it, and Papa Smurf believes that he will fail, but, much to everyone's surprise, he manages to catch it. Without his dragon wand, Gargamel is powerless, and Papa Smurf destroys the wand once and for all, and the Smurfs return home safe and sound. Patrick and Grace have a baby boy, whom they name Blue to honor the Smurfs, and the Smurfs rebuild their houses to look like what humans have.

Monte Carlo

 Monte Carlo is a new upcoming film which is going to be released on 1 July 2011. The production was began on 5 May 2010 and was finished on 7 July 2010. Monte Carlo was shot in Hungary, Budapest, Paris, France and Monaco. It's worth mentioning that the story is made by Kelly Bowe and is based on the novel Headhunters by Jules Bass.

Kung Fu Panda 2

  I believe that we should keep informed people of all ages, so I think that Kung Fu Panda 2 is a great choice to achieve that.

 Well, Kung Fu Panda 2 is a 2011 3D computer-animated action film, sequel to the 2008 film Kung Fu Panda. This movie was directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson and produced by Melissa Cobb and Guillermo del Toro. Also, the script was written by Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger while the distribution was made by Paramount Pictures. $150 million was the budget of the movie, with a running time of 90 minutes. The release of the movie on theaters was on 26 May 2011 and on DVD and Blu-ray is scheduled to be on 1 November 2011.

Slumdog Millionaire

After almost half and year I'am back. So, I decided to put something special. More specifically, I'll tell you about Slumdog Millionaire. This is a british film (an adaptation of the novel Q & A (2005) by Indian author and diplomat Vikas Swarup), which was set and filmed in India. Directed by Danny Boyle, written by Simon Beaufoy and co-directed by Loveleen Tandan, is one of the most succesful films ever. It was nominated for 10 Academy Awards in 2009 and won eight, the most for any film of 2008, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay. It also won seven BAFTA Awards (including Best Film), five Critics' Choice Awards, and four Golden Globes. We also need to know that music is by A. R. Rahman. The running-time is 120 minutes and the budget was $15 million. Now the plot of the movie with few words:

Eighteen-year-old Jamal Malik, a former street child from the Juhu slum, is a contestant on the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, and is one question away from the grand prize. However, before the Rs. 20,000,000 question, he is detained and interrogated by the police, who suspect him of cheating because of the unlikelihood that a simple "slumdog" could possibly know the answers.
